Athanatos Christian Ministries, Inc, is a ministry committed to applying the Christian world view in creative contexts that range from Christian apologetics to education to the edification of the church to literature and the arts. "He has set eternity in the hearts of men." (Ecclesiastes 3:11) From the Director: Naturally, you want to know what Athanatos means. Athanatos is Greek for 'immortality' or, 'not dying.' If Christianity is true, that's what we are: immortal. We are adventurers unleashed for glory, freed from the burden of sin and fearless in the face of death. This ministry is the outgrowth of my apologetics ministries over the last decade. No longer do I believe that the best, exclusive use of my time is to reach out to and contend with atheists. Today I believe that the Church needs to expand its vision and methods in order to keep people from falling away in the first place. The United States is a mission field. There are some things that matter to people today (like stories, movies, etc) that we can use but have been needlessly abandoned to secularists. It is partly the aim of this ministry to re-capture and re-employ what was always properly within the domain of Christian thought. That means that Athanatos Christian Ministries will strive to produce thoughtful educational programs that are consistent with historic, orthodox, creedal Christianity, but also seek to connect through literature, through music, through story, among other methods we might imagine. Athanatos Christian Ministries is a big picture organization. Anyone interested in joining us or learning more is invited to contact us to see just what can be done. Sincerely, Anthony Horvath Executive Director |

To learn more, go to the academy page: http://www.academyofapologetics.com Click here to enroll or login to ACM's online courses: http://www.academyofapologetics.com/courses/login/signup.php Believe in the resurrection of Jesus but don't know the evidence for that belief? Do you see that as a problem? You should. Confused about how the New Testament canon came to be and nervous that books like Dan Brown's "The Da Vinci Code" might have something to it? Arm yourself with the facts. Afraid that you're missing out because you know the New Testament was written in Greek but you're stuck with the English? Maybe learning Greek isn't so hard.
One of the projects that ACM is involved in is a 'virtual school' whereby individuals can learn about the underlying basis of the Christian faith. Each course is actually a 'module.' Sensitive to the time constraints that Americans have on them today, each course is only 2-3 weeks long. Students meet 1-2 times a week and have, at most, 5 hours of time invested each week between readings and participation. |

ACM offers a hybrid approach to publishing: contracts typically allow the author to retain all rights and can offer terms that range from no upfront cost to the author (standard publisher/author relationship) to some costs (quasi-self publishing). ACM publishes under two imprints: Athanatos Publishing Group and Suzeteo Enterprises. |

Athanatos Christian Ministries is looking for co-laborers in the kingdom. If you have an interest in Christian apologetics, we'd like to have you on board. Even if you aren't a 'front line' person, there is plenty of work to be done. These are not, as yet, paid positions. If you have a growing passion for apologetics but don't know where to get started, contact us, and we can get you started. If you have an existing apologetics ministry (or related to ACM's broader vision), and would like to work together, you are invited to contact us to see how we might work together. |

Over the last decade I have become aware of just how much the Church itself plays in generating nonbelievers. It should have dawned on me sooner, as I myself was raised in the church. I had 12 years of Christian schooling and was studying to be a pastor at a Christian university when all of the hard questions came. I foolishly thought that just because I didn't know the answers that Christianity had none. Despite my own experience I didn't give much attention to the thought. This last year my claim that the Church is producing atheists was aired on the ChristianPost.com and I received a flood of emails and contacts, most of them Christians who completely agreed. I had already been thinking about ways in which this trend can be addressed and corrected. The broader vision of Athanatos Christian Ministries is to raise awareness and to try to create and implement solutions to this particular issue. As a consequence, |
